Julianna Peyton "Julie" McKenna was a character in Wes Craven's New Nightmare. She was a kind-hearted and friendly baby-sitter to Dylan Porter and a close friend to Heather Langenkamp. In the film, she was the fourth and the final victim of The Entity. She was portrayed by Tracy Middendorf.

Julie was the kind and very protective babysitter for Dylan as his mother actress Heather Langenkamp's busy schedule. Despite all the weird events that happen with Dylan's nightmares and Heather's moments as well, Julie was shown to still put great faith in trust in Heather and care for Dylan. She even did her best to make sure the nurse doesn't put Dylan to sleep and punched her when she tricks him.

 attack Julie, while she can not see what's happening to her. The Entity brutally murdered her in front of Dylan, by stabbing her in the back, dragging her cut body up the walls and ceilings, and finally broke her neck. She died as she tried reaching out for Dylan one last time. Her murder shocked and horrified Dylan, and he fled to escape The Entity.

Trivia[]

  • Julie's death is similar to Tina Gray's death in the Original A Nightmare on Elm Street.
  • Her death is in the honorable mentions in Mojo.com's list of the Top 10 Freddy Krueger Kills.
  • During his commentary for the film Wes Craven revealed that originally Julie was going to be working for/under the influence of The Entity. This can be seen in the final cut by some suspicious looks Julie gives.
  • Julie's death won the golden chainsaw in dead meats Wes Cravens New Nightmare [1994] KILL COUNT
